Energy modernization of a school center on behalf of GIZ and in cooperation with the Moroccan ADEREE (Agence Nationale pour le Developpement des Energies Renouvables et d’Efficacite Energétique).
The project was financed by the German Embassy in Rabat, Morocco.
The school center is located in the border region with Algeria. The climate is characterized by very hot summers and extremely cold winters with night-time temperatures just above freezing. The building was renovated to make it more energy efficient as part of a pilot project. This included insulating the floor, ceiling and walls of the classrooms and installing solar panels to generate hot water.
